Jessica Avina
Marty Stouffer’s Wild America was one of Jessica’s favorite TV shows growing up. The love of wildlife, adventure, and continual amazement by nature’s wonder has stuck with her. After graduating from University of California, San Diego with a B.A. in Anthropology and a minor in Environmental Studies, Jessica worked on a project studying frogs in the forests of Thailand. She then spent several months traveling around Southeast Asia before moving to Hawaii, back to California, and now Washington.
Jessica is a current Masters in Public Administration (MPA) candidate at the Evans School of Public Affairs, University of Washington. She is focusing her degree on Environmental Policy and Management. She has also conducted several evaluation projects in the public and nonprofit sectors. Jessica looks forward to helping Wild Planet develop its operational capacity. Her hobbies include rollerskating down large hills at high speed, night surfing, and making tortillas from scratch.
